Rawhiti Curved Joinery

This window frame was one of ten frames with a high degree of difficulty, therefore accurate measuring was required. The frame was fully templated on site before manufacturing to line with custom made rafters.

3 light corner frame includes 1 square of fixed glass with a raking head radius corner and a raking jamb, 1 set of bifold sashes with 1 square of fixed glass radius corner and raking jamb mitred with an internal corner. The frame and sill are made of Australian Jarrah. Sashes are made of paint quality Western Red Cedar, double glazed.

The frame consists of three separate radius corners, three different angles as well as mitering to the internal corner and following the fall in the roof.

Negative details were used outside and inside throughout the job so accurate sizes were required to obtain the detailing for flashings and inside finish.
