Timber Joinery

McNaughton Windows and Doors is a family owned business that has been in operation for over 75 years. With a management team boasting collective industry experience of over 150 years, it’s easy to see why we’ve built a reputation for our high quality timber joinery, our expertise and our excellent customer service.
Quality timber joinery not only aligns with New Zealand’s traditional architecture, it has the additional benefit of having the best insulation value of joinery materials available in NZ. Our timber windows and doors also incorporate weather seals to reduce draft and improve insulation.

Windows and doors may also be double glazed, which reduces noise and condensation and further improves insulation. We achieve this by using either our standard 44mm double glazed sash or door, or the larger 56mm where increased structural strength is required.

We are currently midway through a programme of testing our windows and doors to ensure they meet the requirements of the NZ Building Code (NZ4211) which will be coming into force in the near future, and all products tested to date have exceeded the required standard.

Timber joinery is durable and high quality, and is available in a range of finishes and styles. Our timber is treated when required, offering protection from weather, mould, fungi and insect attack. We are also New Zealand’s sole agent for JMF Joinery.

We offer a variety of sizes and configurations that can be custom produced to your needs including:

Timber Doors

We manufacture a range of stock sizes and designs or to our client’s custom design. Our range includes:

  • Interior Doors

We offer an extensive range of interior hollow core or solid core stock doors, while specific heights and widths can be produced according to your needs. These doors can be made with glass, timber or ply panels.

FYADOR

We manufacture a range of Fire Doors (FYADOR) that are Smoke Stop, 15 minute, 30 minute and 60 minute rated. These can be manufactured with or without glass panels, sidelights or overlights. In addition we can produce a range of Fire Windows (FYAWINDOW). The sizes of these units are covered by tested glass sizes.

Shutters & Louvres

We manufacture several different types of shutters and louvres, fixed and adjustable blade options and our own design for adjustable blade situations - McVENT.

Cedar louvres available in:

  • fixed blade (different sizes)
  • adjustable flat (2 sizes)
  • adjustable aerofoil (2 sizes)
  • closed louvres (2 sizes)

McVENT 38 has 38mm x 10mm blades, which are able to adjust in full open position within the thickness of a 40mm thick shutter. This allows the shutter to slide away with no risk of hitting the blades on windows or walls.

McVENT 65 has 65mm blades which are adjusted with a roller wheel and the blades in full open position stay within the thickness of a 65mm shutter
